Wordless Wednesday Is Bullshit!

As a blogger, I spend a bit of time conversing with other bloggers, visiting their sites, commenting where needed, etc. I do this to learn a bit about the craft. See, I know my writing is for crap. But it is an outlet and it keeps me from just pummeling someone for doing or saying something stupid. Little steam here, little steam there… all better!
I’m seeing more and more of “wordless” or “one word” blog posts. What the hell is that?
It seems like a ploy to show a blog entry when the blogger couldn’t be bothered. Why not just post, “I’m taking a day off folks. See ya tomorrow?”
At least post a link to a picture. Or links to other blogs you’ve enjoyed. Or just skip it. Wordless blogs are bullshit!

Wordless Wednesday is actually a lot of work. If you participate it is expected that you try to visit as many other participates as possible. I used to play this meme, but only when I had a lot of time to do so. It is not unusual for 400 and up to participate. That’s a hecka lot of visits to try to do in one day. Just saying. My blog is almost wordless. I used to run a full-fledged blog, but there were several factors which led to dropping it:
1. It takes a lot longer and is more tedious to blog regularly.
2. I don’t have much to say and it’s hard to always find something to write about.
3. I am simply don’t feel comfortable leaving all my thoughts out in the open.
I still had things I wanted to share though, so now I just have lots of little posts each day. Comments are off, and posts take less than five minutes, and I get more fulfillment out of it than i did with conventional blogging.
It is basically Twitter, but on another level. I think Twitter is bullshit btw D:

My entire blog is bullshit, so I love Wordless Wednesday. OK, love is a strong word, I like it.
Actually, I don’t even really like it. I only do it because I have offensive leftover pics.

You know it is funny you mention this. I used to participate in ABC Wednesday, where you took a photo of something with a particular letter each week, however it always came with a story.
I have never done wordless wednesday for this reason, I find that the few really moving or interesting entries come from photography blogs that I tend to visit anyway.
I don’t know the whole MEME idea just isnt my scene.
