While We Were Away… WTF?
By
admin on Sep. 4, 2008.
I took a few days to do something else, and I come back to reality and I’m wondering, how on Earth do we survive as a spieces? OMG, we are so fucked!
I’m working on a few stories. Stay tuned, it is getting so bullshit, I can’t even begin to explain.

Still Time To Enter The Bullshit Awards Contest
By
admin on Aug. 11, 2008.
The details are on the contest page, so I won’t repeat the entry here. You have to enter to win, and yes, you can vote for your own entry. Top three voted entries win Entrecard Credits, 8500 EC are up for grabs!
The bullshit part of all this is that only two people have entered so far. You’re almost guaranteed to win if you enter and vote for yourself. Although I’d probably get a few friends to help out.

So You Think You Can Write? - Contest
By
admin on Aug. 5, 2008.
We are excited to announce the first Bullshit Awards contest. The details are below:
Requirements:
- Go to The Bullshit Awards website.
- Click the “Nominate A Bullshitter Button” and complete the nomination form. On this form you’ll have the opportunity to describe why the individual or organization you are nominating deserves a Bullshit Award. Use the short description (up to 250 characters) and the long description (up to 3000 characters) to state your case.
- The individual or organization you nominate must be a real person or organization. The individual or organization should be properly categorized.
- Entries must comply with the TOS or the admin will not allow it to post to the site. We will not edit or alter your submission. All nominations will be reviewed within 24 hours of submission.
- Please include your correct email address so we can contact you if you win. The nominations posted to the site are completely anonymous unless you put something in the descriptions to identify yourself.
- You may enter as many times as you wish, but can only nominate a person or organization once. You may renominate someone that someone else nominated.
How and When Are Winners Selected:
- Registered users can vote on the nominations. You can register and vote for your own nomination(s).
- Winners will be selected based on votes received on a single posted nomination. Please note that the top ten list on the site is by nominee and therefore is not an accurate depiction of placement in this contest.
- Nominations will be accepted through Midnight (Eastern US) Friday, August 22nd, 2008.
- Votes will be accepted through Midnight (Eastern US) August 23, 2008. Winners will be announced on August 24, 2008.
What Do They Win:
- There are three prize levels for this contest. Third prize is 1000 Entrecredits. Second prize is 2500 Entrecredits. First prize is 5000 Entrecredits. Winners can opt for cash payment via Paypal at a $3 per thousand exchange rate.
Other Considerations:
- This site is in Alpha testing phase. As such, we cannot foresee all potential issues that might arise during this contest. If you have any issues with the site, we ask that you contact us through the Feedback form. And please be patient.
- We’ve tied this site to a forum. Registration for the site includes registration to the forum. As a result, some of the navigation might be a bit quirky. Please accept our apology on this in advance.
- During Alpha testing there will be no charge for submitting a nomination. We will not be mailing the notification certificates either.
- While some will take this opportunity to thrash someone, we would like to encourage you to be tasteful in how you write your nominations. Posts are anonymous, however, being mean spirited probably won’t get you very far in this contest (or in life for that matter).
- Since this is a vote based contest, we encourage you to promote your nomination externally (i.e., through blog posts, social networking sites, forums, etc.).
- Any and all suggestions and feedback are welcome. We want to make this a really cool and fun site for our users.
- Please post any questions you have about the contest in the comments below. I’ll respond as promptly as I can.

Why Are We Really Here?
By
admin on Jul. 28, 2008.
Some of you may wonder why I started this blog. Okay, that is bullshit. I’m sure none of you have lost any sleep on that one. Anyhow, I didn’t register this domain and go through this trouble just to start yet another rant blog. There are plenty of people out there who are far more articulate and angry than me. Heck, let’s be honest. There are thousands of people more articulate and angrier than me. This blog is in fact a subsidiary of a much larger project.
The curious ones out there have probably already done a bit of snooping and found that this blog is built as a subdomain. Meaning that there is another site on top of this one. That site is The Bullshit Awards (bullshitawards.com). I think it is going to be a ton of fun for those who choose the participate.
Remember those thousands of more articulate and angrier people? I’ve given them all a playground!
And what good is a good rant if the very people it is about aren’t aware it exists? We solve that problem. Each person nominated for a Bullshit Award will receive notification in the mail. The members of the site can then vote and comment on the nominations. The individual with the most votes (in each category) wins the quarterly prize. We will also announce a Bullshitter of the Year award!
To add to the fun, we’ve created a community area for users to discuss the Bullshit Award candidates and other bullshit.
We’re currently in alpha testing, which means there are quite a few tweaks to work out. You can nominate someone and the accepted nominations will be temporarily posted to the site (we won’t be mailing notifications during the alpha testing). Please check it out and tell us what you think. There will be some special perks going out to those that registered during our alpha testing, although we haven’t quite worked what). So, don’t miss out!

Blog Name Change
By
admin on Jul. 25, 2008.
If you’re an alert reader, you’ll probably realize that we’ve changed the name of the blog to The Bullshit Stalker. This was done for a couple of reasons: 1) to rebrand the blog as a stand alone product as we go live with The Bullshit Awards; 2) to make it less confusing about the purpose of the blog (while we will discuss the goings and comings of The Bullshit Awards site and community, it isn’t the primary purpose of this blog).
We also came to realize that the domain bullshitstalker.com was available! Go figure…

Bullshit Button
By
admin on Jul. 3, 2008.
This is a neat little gadget. It is the Bullshit Button. Fashioned similar to the Easy button from the Staples commercials. I found this on GizModo Gadgets - Bullshit Button.

But lets get real. If you want to call someone on their bullshit, we’re the place to be! You won’t have to pretend any more. Bullshit Awards is your opportunity to call them out for real. We plan to start the alpha testing later this month and to enter our beta testing in August. Enjoy!

The Idea Begins Taking Form
By
admin on Jun. 12, 2008.
Welcome to the official Bullshit Awards blog. We are about to undertake the grand experiment. Will acknowledging the best bullshitters make a difference? Will it reduce the amount of bullshit we have to deal with? My hypothesis is that it won’t, but it sure will be fun calling people out.
We plan to go live with the alpha testing in just a few weeks. The beta testing will begin on August 1st (or earlier if the alpha goes well). If you’re reading this post before August 1st, we ask your patience as we beat the bugs out of the system.
So, lets have some fun!
