The Bullshit Awards Recognizes - The Matthias Chronicles
By
admin on Sep. 30, 2008.
Sometimes you don’t want to think. Sometimes you want someone to think for you. If I were to pick a blogger to do that for me, it would probably be this guy. No, not really, but The Matthias Chronicles sure is a fun read.
If I were to even consider calling bullshit on him it would to drop the special characters when he goes on a rant. Cursing is cursing even when you use the @ symbols and the exclamation points.
For those who think I’m buying into the bullshit by recognizing him merely because he tagged me, I’d encourage you to read his blog a few times before you pass judgment.

Messing With Drunk People Is Bullshit, But Funny!
By
admin on Sep. 22, 2008.
I’m sure one who can relate to being a bit out of it. This guy obviously doesn’t have any friends, or at least they weren’t at this game. He’d had a few too many and while he was sleeping it off, the games began. Nobody was watching the game, it was the Mets after all.

Bullshit At The Time

Numbering the steps was bullshit while I was walking up. Now it is pretty cool to know how many steps there are.

Assume The Position
By
admin on Sep. 11, 2008.

I was filling up my truck the other day when I saw this sticker on a pole next to the pump. Of course gas prices are high, but having dropped a bit from the high it doesn’t seem to hurt quite as bad. But that is about the change…
It appears that Huricane Ike is going to make life a lot harder for the American worker as the MSNBC reports that gas prices are going to pop! It seems counter intuitive that oil could be dropping but gas goes up. But this isn’t a normal situation. See, most of the refineries are on the Texas and Louisiana coasts. If Ike damages them, supply of oil won’t be the problem, but making gasoline from that oil will be.
Enjoy the bullshit!

The Bullshit Stalker Recognizes Steven Humour
By
admin on Sep. 8, 2008.

You can’t wade through the bullshit like I do and keep your head on straight without taking a break now and then. Steven Humour (Humor for all my American readers) provides my daily dose of funny. I can count on this guy to have a daily post that will make me laugh and realize, “We may be fucked as a species, so we might as well laugh about it.”
He has a quick hitting, and sometimes dark sense of humor that I can really relate to. Most of his content is from other places, but he seems to dig out some of the best stuff on the net. So, save yourself some time and hit his site for your daily laugh out loud moment. You won’t be sorry!

Seven Dollar Beer Bullshit
By
admin on Sep. 7, 2008.
Okay, I’m taking a short flight on Delta Airlines to Atlanta. The flight attendant is a few rows ahead of me when I hear her say, “Seven dollars.” Then, “Yes, I wish I could set the price.” I was considering a couple of beers myself. So, I had to ask her what I figure the other passenger was asking. Yes, that was right - Seven dollars for a 12 oz can of domestic beer. Bullshit!
Let me put this in perspective:
- That’s 58.33 cents for an ounce. This is likely more than it cost them for the whole can, meaning they’ve marked this up more than 1200%.
- That’s $42 for a six pack that I could buy at the local retailer for $5.
- That’s $84 for a twelve pack that I could buy for $9 at the local retailer.
- That’s $168 for a case that would cost me $14 or less at home.
- Gas costs just under $4 per gallon in most of the US, just under $9 per gallon in the UK, but this beer was going for $74.67 per gallon.
I’m all for keeping passengers from getting sloshed. I mean that could very well be a safety issue. But damn!
Another thing that Delta and all the other airlines should consider with this piece meal pricing is that business will pay for your ticket because they need you in a certain city on a certain date. But they’re not going to pay for the extras. So, while you think you’re making up costs and creating revenue, in the long run, you’re costing yourself revenue. Because, guess what? I didn’t pay it. I took a Diet Coke that was free. If they’d have asked me to pay for it, I’d have passed on that too.

I took a few days to do something else, and I come back to reality and I’m wondering, how on Earth do we survive as a spieces? OMG, we are so fucked!
I’m working on a few stories. Stay tuned, it is getting so bullshit, I can’t even begin to explain.
